Andrew has over 35 years’ experience in integrated catchment management, hydrology, water policy and RMA decision-making.

He is an accredited RMA commissioner (Chair endorsement), most recently based at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research in Nelson and prior to that working in regional council environmental management. He is a former president of the NZ Hydrological Society and recipient of its Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hydrology.

Andrew has been a commissioner on regional council freshwater plans, water conservation orders, iwi freshwater issues and consents. He was a member of the 2019-20 Freshwater Independent Advisory Panel for the Essential Freshwater reforms.
