Kate is an independent consultant with 20 years of experience in freshwater science and resource management.

She has a background in freshwater ecology and natural resource management and has worked as a senior water scientist for regional councils.

Kate has provided expert advice for twelve plan change processes, has represented tangata whenua interests in the development of the NPS-FM 2017, and is the current President of the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society.
